The Karbala local government laid the foundation stone for the Karbala Gate residential investment complex project, implemented by Amwaj International Company, confirming the project's contribution to providing 20,000 job opportunities for the people of the province.
Governor Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi said, after the foundation stone-laying ceremony, in an interview with "Al-Sabah": The Karbala local government is continuing to launch many investment projects in the province, by providing lands with investment opportunities, which will contribute to achieving urban and population growth within an integrated urban planning. for the city.
He confirmed the existence of a qualitative leap with the transfer of urban planning to Karbala and the expansion towards the axis (Karbala - Najaf) to create a new city that includes many investment projects adjacent to the project, which he noted that it is among the programs prepared by the Karbala municipality to open a smart city managed by the (IOT) system, which must be built On a solid, integrated and developed infrastructure that simulates the qualitative and urban shift that exists globally.
For his part, the head of the Holy Karbala Investment Commission, Ahmed Mahel Al-Maliki, stated in a statement to "Al-Sabah": that the commission had developed a local annual plan, which was approved by its council and has already begun to be implemented, and includes various residential, agricultural and industrial projects. With the production of strategic crops with a number of 150 thousand tons of wheat, as for the industrial sector, there are many projects such as steel, iron, paper and dairy factories, which are the largest at the level of the governorate and are actually involved in production.
He added that the housing sector had a large share of that plan, as the number of residential projects built in the governorate reached 33 projects, and regarding the health sector, he mentioned that there are seven hospitals, three of which have opened and the rest are in the final stages of completion, in addition to tourism projects and an entertainment city that have reached Achievement rates of 50 percent. Al-Maliki promised the housing projects, the most important because they will contribute to resolving the housing crisis in the city, whose need was estimated at 125,000 housing units, to end the housing crisis. In the same context, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company executing the project, Namir Al-Aqabi, praised in an interview he gave to "Al-Sabah" the cooperation provided by the Karbala Investment Authority through the speedy completion of legal transactions to start the project as soon as possible, which pours into the past efforts to show Karbala in the most beautiful look. , commensurate with its great importance.
He added that the Boulevard will include a group of international brands, cafes and shops, in addition to an underground car park, along with a number of main streets, including a 60-meter-wide street, in addition to a chain of international schools from the (Subs International) company licensed by (Persons) English.
