Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -MP, Ali al-Shalah, of the State of Law Coalition, announced his intention to sue the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, for harming the national unity.

He stated to IraqiNews.com “Nijaifi has to know that the policy of silencing voices will not effective with me and I will not give up the attempt to gather MPs’ signatures to withdraw confidence from him and to interrogate him for harming the national unity.”

“If he wishes to settle this issue through the judiciary, I will sue him for negatively affecting the national unity and lack of neutrality as a Speaker,” he concluded.

It is worth mentioning that Nijaifi announced his intention to sue member of the State of Law Coalition, Ali al-Shalah, on charges of conducting false accusations to mislead the public.

Earlier, Shalah announced gathering 120 MPs’ signatures to withdraw confidence from Nijaifi for his visit to Qatar and his debated statements concerning the situation in Iraq.

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -The Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, announced his intention to sue member of the State of Law Coalition, Ali al-Shalah, on charges of conducting false accusations to mislead the public.

A statement by Nijaifi’s office received by IraqiNews.com “As we hoped some political sides to take steps forward to settle the crisis, we are surprised for irresponsible statements issued by Shalah.”

“We are aware of the aims behind such statements that are intended to weaken the role of the parliament Speaker due to his stance in supporting the demonstrations,” the statement added.

“Towards such lies, we have to sue Shalah who wants to defame Nijaifi according to the Iraqi law,” the statement concluded.

Earlier, Shalah announced gathering 120 MPs’ signatures to withdraw confidence from Nijaifi for his visit to Qatar and his debated statements concerning the situation in Iraq.
