Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani said that operating the Baiji refinery will close the door to importing petroleum products for the whole of Iraq and give us sufficiency, indicating that with the efforts of one of the loyal citizens, we were able to recover nearly 100 trucks loaded with materials and parts for the refinery that would have cost millions of dollars to buy, in addition to the length of time if we wanted. re-produce it.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated that "Al-Sudani met, yesterday, Wednesday, the sheikhs and notables of the Baiji district in Salah al-Din Governorate, in the presence of the Minister of Electricity, the Governor of Salah al-Din, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Energy Committee, and members of Parliament for the governorate, during his visit to the district, which he arrived in the morning. yesterday".
The Prime Minister referred to "the importance and privacy of the Baiji district, as it was subjected to the control of the terrorist gangs of ISIS, and suffered from blind terrorism that destroyed and vandalized all important sites and facilities, and cast a shadow on the living and economic situation," stressing that "the district includes important economic facilities for all of Iraq, including It must be transformed into an important economic site in terms of oil facilities, power stations and industrial cities, which fall within the government's plans, programs and strategic objectives.
Al-Sudani announced, during the meeting, that "sincere efforts helped the government recover stolen materials and equipment from the Baiji refinery that caused its disruption, which are materials, equipment, and articulated devices that could cost us millions of dollars if we requested them, and we would need years to manufacture them, and today these materials are on the site, ensuring the return of The refinery to work in its full design capacity, which will make us self-sufficient in the issue of oil derivatives," referring to "the cooperation of a citizen who announced his willingness to contribute to the recovery of materials whose load may reach 100 trucks."
He continued, "The security services worked to secure the arrival of equipment from the Kurdistan region to its site in the refinery," considering that "this step is a good omen for the completion of the rehabilitation of this important site, and we are on a short timetable for operating the refinery with its design capacity (150) thousand barrels per day."
He pointed out that "the government, since its early days, affirms the principle of providing service to the citizen, and all our activity is related to services, because it is a popular and important demand, and it has been long overdue," noting that "there is delay in implementing projects due to routine, whether at the level of ministries or governorates, but the lesson is By addressing these negatives and overcoming them, which is not difficult for a country that possesses the resources and decision-making."
Al-Sudani added, "We seek to improve the economic reality, and we still have natural resources that have not been invested, and the city of Baiji is a project of a strategic economic location." The marketed wheat is 900,000 tons.
The Prime Minister concluded his speech by saying: "Terrorism today is just terrified elements that hide in burrows and caves, and are pursued by the efforts of our sons in the security services."
