Vian Sabri, head of the Kurdistan Democratic Bloc, confirmed that the Kurdistan government is delivering 85,000 barrels per day to the federal government, adding that the amount calculated for the first six months of this year for Kurdistan is very small.
The head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc in the Iraqi parliament, Vian Sabri, said today, Saturday, “The Kurdistan government delivers about 85 thousand barrels of oil per day to the federal government, and the amount of oil can increase to 120-150 thousand barrels per day if necessary.”
Vian Sabri added, "Erbil and Baghdad have not yet reached an agreement on non-oil revenues," explaining that "according to the budget law, half of the non-oil revenues will be delivered to the federal government and the other half will remain for Kurdistan, but what Baghdad says is contrary to the budget law."
According to the head of the Parliamentary Kurdistan Democratic Bloc, “the Kurdistan government and the federal government did not reach an agreement on how to compensate the oil companies,” adding that “the federal government pays good sums to the oil companies in other Iraqi provinces, and it also pays the costs of service contracts and oil production, but the amount allocated There are very few companies operating in Kurdistan.
Vian Sabri stressed, "The federal government must commit to sending Kurdistan's share of the budget law, because there is no justification for not sending Kurdistan's share, and we have committed to all provisions of the budget law."
Sabri indicated, "The federal government has set an estimated amount for the first six months of this year, until June 25, 2023, that is, before the budget law was approved, and the amount allocated to 15 Iraqi governorates only and does not include Kurdistan."
She explained that "598 billion dinars allocated to Kurdistan is very little, because the real spending for Iraq is not large. At least six or seven trillion dinars should have been spent for Kurdistan."
