The Financial Supervision Bureau announced that 80% of book printing was granted to Al-Warraq Company by Al-Nahrain General Company for printing and producing educational supplies.
The Supervision Bureau said in a report seen by Al-Iqtisad News, “The production capabilities of Al-Nahrain General Company for printing and producing educational supplies, which amount to 400 million bindings annually, have not been optimally exploited.”
He added that approximately 80% of the printing of school books was transferred by Al-Nahrain Company to Al-Warraq Company, indicating that it allocated 130 billion dinars for the purpose of rehabilitating Al-Nahrain Company, of which 70.9 billion dinars were spent on equipping, installing, and operating printing machines, devices, and supplies.
He continued, that these resources were not exploited to increase the company’s production capacity according to the latest specifications and in a way that ensures an increase in the company’s revenues and that it does not resort to partnership contracts with the private sector.
The Financial Supervision Bureau noted the extension of the partnership contract with Al-Warraq Printing Company on July 1, 2018, which includes extending the original contract for another 5 years, starting on 1/30/2019 and ending on 1/30/2024.
