    On Tuesday, the Chairman of the National Investment Authority, Haider Muhammad Makiya, discussed with the South Korean Minister of Lands, Infrastructure and Transport, Wan Hye-ryong, the development of economic relations and the possibility of South Korean companies participating in implementing investment projects in vital sectors in Baghdad and all provinces.
    Makiya said in his speech, at the World Conference on Infrastructure Cooperation in the capital of the South Korean Republic, Seoul, with the participation of official and international companies, that “Baghdad is keen to develop its economic and trade relations with South Korea, and that work is underway to enhance development indicators in investment projects in various housing sectors.” Industrial, service, agricultural, infrastructure and energy sectors at the level of all governorates.”
    He added, "The Authority is implementing specific work programs to attract capital and solid companies through the investment opportunities it announces, such as new cities in Baghdad, Karbala, Babylon, Anbar, Nineveh, and other various opportunities."
    Makiya stressed, "The Iraqi government has prepared a precise governmental program that grants space to sponsor the investment sector, and supports mechanisms to expand the areas of regional and international partnerships with well-established investment companies in order to implement projects that meet the needs of society and achieve the economic feasibility planned for them."
     Makiya continued, "The National Investment Commission welcomes the policy of expanding the horizons of dealings with South Korean companies, giving them a strategic dimension that is compatible with the nature of the investment projects managed by the National Investment Commission."
    The conference discussed the importance of mapping cooperation between participating countries, stimulating the investment sector, and encouraging investors to make mutual visits between countries to develop the sector, as well as achieving economic integration between Iraq and the rest of the developed countries in investment and economics.
