    The Iranian ambassador to Baghdad, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq, announced that Iraq's share of Iranian goods imports had increased by 16% in the first half of this year.
    Mehr News quoted Sadiq during the opening ceremony of the third Iran Business Fair in Iraq yesterday evening, Tuesday, saying, “According to the announcement of the Islamic Republic and Iranian Customs, the volume of Iran’s exports abroad during the first half of this year reached 67 million and 700 thousand tons of goods worth 24 billion and 144 million dollars, and Iraq’s share of importing Iranian goods was equal to 4 billion and 500 million dollars.
    He added, "This statistic shows a growth of about 16% in the export of Iranian goods to the Iraqi market compared to the same period last year, and Iraq comes in second place among the import partners of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
    The Iranian ambassador to Iraq continued, “The Islamic Republic of Iran’s imports from Iraq in the first six months of this year are estimated at about 100 million dollars, which indicates the imbalance in economic relations between the two countries.”
    Sadiq continued, “Despite the presence of some internal restrictions, Iran has committed to helping Iraq meet the needs of power plants, including electricity and gas, and by implementing electricity and gas power plant projects, especially through its large companies such as MBNA, which... He contributed significantly to improving the state of Iraq's energy infrastructure.
    He pointed out that "Iranian companies implemented many projects in Iraq in the past years and had an effective presence in the Iraqi market," and said: In this context and based on the agreements concluded, there are companies that have 6 construction projects, and they implemented a project to build a residential complex and a hospital in Iraq.
    He noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as it declares its support for Iraq’s stability, security, independence, territorial integrity, pride, power, and regional and international standing, declares its readiness to develop bilateral regional cooperation, noting that “improving the level of exchanges between the two countries in all dimensions, especially in developing economic relations and joint investment, is... With the interest and emphasis of the officials of both countries.
    The Iranian ambassador to Iraq stated, “The trend of economic relations between Iran and Iraq has been in constant growth and reached about 12 billion dollars last year.”
    He considered the presence of eight land border crossings between the two countries and the continuation of economic exchanges, including participation in holding seminars, conferences and exhibitions, an indicator of the close economic relations between the two countries, pointing out that “Iran, by exporting technical and engineering services and implementing infrastructure projects in the past years, has contributed greatly to Strengthening infrastructure in Iraq.
    Yesterday, Tuesday, the third Iranian business exhibition in Iraq was opened in the presence of the Iranian ambassador and business activists in the two countries at the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad.
    In this two-day exhibition, more than 50 Iranian companies displayed their capabilities in the fields of packaging, printing, detergents, foodstuffs, agricultural equipment, technical and engineering services, petrochemicals, pharmaceutical equipment and disposable dishes.
