The Ministry of Communications announced on Sunday that Iraqi Post has advanced 12 places in the Universal Postal Union Development Index ranking.
The Ministry stated in a statement, “The Postal Development Indicators Report showed the development of Iraqi postal performance to be competitive with a number of Arab and international postal administrations and its achievement of tangible progress due to the tremendous development and qualitative leaps in the services it provides and the introduction of several advanced systems in postal work.”
She added: “After the great development in postal activities that contributed to raising the level of Iraqi post through the Iraqi Post’s subscription to the technical support platform (ITSM), the application of Universal Postal Union standards on postal and accounting activities, and its joining in the e-commerce project.”
She pointed out "activating aviation events within the (Iraqi-UAE) air transport agreements, which led to an increase in the movement and volume of outgoing mail. Other projects include working with QCS_IPS _CDS _GCSS systems and activating the express mail service."
