Shafaq News/ The Ministry of Construction and Housing confirmed, on Saturday, the completion of work on projects to relieve traffic congestion in the capital, Baghdad, in the middle of next year, indicating that work on these projects continues around the clock.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Construction and Housing, Nabil Al-Saffar, said in a statement to Shafaq News Agency, “Work is continuing on service projects to relieve traffic congestion in the capital, Baghdad, according to the directives of the Prime Minister, and we have entered the fourth stage in terms of constructing bridges, as the stages included establishing pillars.” And the caps of the pillars for the bridges, after which the columns, column capitals and joists were created.
He added, “Work on these projects is continuous, 24 hours a day, with three duties and without stopping, as the completion of the projects has reached advanced levels, and it is expected that the work on the projects to relieve traffic congestion, complete the bridges, and open them in the middle of the year 2024.”
At the beginning of last March, Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, through the Ministry of Housing and Reconstruction, launched what he said was “the first package of projects to relieve traffic congestion in Baghdad,” which, according to the ministry, included the construction of 16 new bridges and roads.
