On Sunday, the Shula Municipality Department of the Baghdad Municipality announced 24 plans to include the main streets and infrastructure projects with services, while setting the date for the opening of two sewage stations and conveyor lines in the Al-Dawanam area.
The director of Al-Shuala Municipality, Muhammad Al-Khazali, said in a statement reported by the official news agency, and seen by “Al-Eqtisad News”, “We are working to provide services in the Al-Shuala area within the directives of the Prime Minister, and there are basic and recreational projects.”
Al-Khazali added, “Entertainment projects have been developed, including fountains and a park, in the Al-Hurriya area, approximately 22 dunams, and there are more than 24 plans this year to include the main streets and infrastructure projects, and work is underway quickly and seriously.”
He continued: “Some areas were deprived of providing services because it is not permissible to provide services to agricultural areas, but under the directives of the Prime Minister in accordance with the approval of Law 350 of 2023, the Baghdad Municipality was allowed to enter those areas and provide services with the engineering service team.”
He pointed out that “the municipality was able to complete the first phase of organizing the sewage works, and is now in the second phase in cooperation with Baghdad Sewerage to establish two stations and conveyor lines to serve the remainder of the Al-Duwanim area, with an area of approximately 600 dunams, which is scheduled to open in 2024.”
