The ministry said in a statement received by "Al-Sumaria News", "In accordance with the directives of the Minister of Transport, and in the first hours of the new year, the completion of Pier No. 2 was announced."
The Ministry added, “The completion rate of work exceeded 85% in the five berths project, which is a higher percentage than what was planned in the project,” noting that “work in the Grand Faw Port is being conducted according to contracts and the time limit.”
The Ministry continued, "The project map in the Grand Faw Port, whether the five berths or the rest of the projects, is proceeding at a high and increasing pace, without any delay, and at advanced rates compared to what was planned."
According to the Ministry, the project to establish the container terminal for the Grand Al-Faw Port, which is one of the five projects of the project, includes the construction of five giant berths for unloading ships with a length of (1,750) meters, and the establishment of a container yard with a length of (2,000) meters and a width of (600) with an initial capacity of up to two million containers annually.
