The Ministry of Communications announced, today, Thursday, an increase in development indicators for the communications and information technology sector for the past year.
A statement from the ministry received by Mawazine News stated, “According to the annual report issued by the International Telecommunication Union/Development Sector, the Ministry of Communications achieved a noticeable increase in the development indicators of the communications and information technology sector in Iraq for the year 2023.”
He added, "The increase was achieved by (77.7) percent compared to what was achieved in previous indicators over the past years by (61.4) percent, while the new (IDI) index rates for the year 2023 reached a value of (69.5) percent, which was approved." He pointed out that "a noticeable improvement has been recorded by Iraq, and the implications it carries for the development and advancement of Iraq among the countries of the region in indicators of the development of the communications and information technology sector."
