    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Wednesday (February 28, 2024), an informed political source revealed that a meeting will be held at the level of the leaders of the winning political blocs in Kirkuk under the auspices of the Prime Minister next Sunday.
The source said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “a meeting, the second of its kind, will be held and will also be sponsored by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani for all leaders of the winning political forces in Kirkuk, including Khamis al-Khanjar, Bafel Talabani, Arshad al-Salhi, Muhammad Tamim, Shakhwan Abdullah, and Rayyan al-Kildani.”
He added, "The meeting will set a future road map for Kirkuk, including that the security administration of Kirkuk will remain in the hands of the federal forces. It will also try to decide the naming of the positions, including the position of the governor and his deputies, and the head of the council and his deputy, and also resolve the issue of distributing the governorate's administration points and the method of managing them."
On February 21, under the auspices and presence of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, representatives of the political forces that won the Kirkuk Provincial Council elections held a meeting under the vision of a national initiative to form the local government in the governorate, in accordance with the fair entitlement expressed by the election results, and then agreeing on a program. An economic service that is compatible with the government program in which the federal government operates, according to the official statement.
