A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Hussein Munis, confirmed that Iraq may reach the stage of being unable to pay salaries.
Mu'nis said in an interview followed by Mawazine News, "The Central Bank of Iraq is very negligent in managing the interests of Islamic banks."
He added: "We may witness financial inflation if the ceiling for currency printing increases."
He pointed out that "Iraqi private banks are trying to favor the US Treasury Department."
