The head of the Victory Coalition, Haider al-Abadi, described changing the election law as the opposite of our situation, indicating that one term for the Sudanese government is not enough to achieve his program.
Al-Abadi said in a televised interview followed by Mawazine News, “There is nothing wrong with the current electoral law, and changing it would be a big mistake, and that does not call into question, but rather it is a violation of our situation,” noting that “Al-Sudani has not decided to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, but every prime minister aspires to complete his program.” Perhaps one term will not be enough for him.”
He continued, "The disagreement and competition between the forces of the Coordination Framework and the Sudanese does not exist, and he was not required to not run for a second term or participate in the elections."
The former Prime Minister added, "The Sudanese has not declared this ambition yet," stressing that "some conservatives are seeking to run with the Prime Minister in the upcoming elections."
