On Tuesday, the Parliamentary Legal Committee counted the number of “stalled” draft laws in the Iraqi House of Representatives, including 4 important bills.
Committee member Muhammad Anouz said in a press interview, “There are many laws still suspended in the House of Representatives. “ Some of them require political consensus and others need to be reformulated from a technical standpoint.”
He explained that “the suspended laws that are being read, discussed, and voted amount to more than 120 laws, the most important of which are the laws on general amnesty, the Federal Court, retirement, and oil and gas.”
Anouz pointed out that “the approval of the law has been stalled.” “ The important laws in the House of Representatives are linked to political consensus, in addition to the delay in naming the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives.”[/rtl]
