Delay dues peasants threaten agriculture in Dhi Qar
first deputy governor of Dhi Qar just Aldechala warned that a delay in the financial dues to farmers threaten the fate of agriculture in the province, calling on the Cabinet to pay the debt owed to farmers to ensure the sustainability of agriculture and increase production.
He Aldechala "The amounts of money to farmers has not yet been paid for wheat and barley crops that have been marketed by them for the years 2015 and 2016, which negatively affects on agriculture in the province and reduce the marketing of these crops for the next winter season.
He appealed to "the Cabinet resolution of financial dues to the peasants of Dhi Qar file as quickly as possible to meet their financial obligations with the agricultural banks and other government banks," and urged the adoption of direct payments (50%) and Treasury bonds by the other half, pointing to the farmer mainly rely on physical payoff resulting from the marketing of crops.
He pointed out that "the peasants dues for the remainder of 2015 and the current year amounted to about 129 billion Iraqi dinars has not been disbursed, which hit the peasant movement and received the next agricultural seasons."
He stressed the need to distribute funds equitably among the provinces, calling attention to the agricultural sector, refreshed and devote efforts to provide full support to him. (End)
