Lavrov Tillerson discuss easing escalation in Syria
BAGHDAD (Reuters) -
Search Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with his US counterpart Rex Tillerson in a telephone call-escalation in Syria tasks.
Announced the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued regarding the telephone conversation between the two ministers on Friday that the issue of the Syrian settlement was at the forefront of the talks, especially in light of the results of the Astana meeting on Syria -4.
According to the statement: "we discussed the easing of escalation in this country and achieve a sustainable ceasefire and to strengthen counter-terrorism efforts of the functions of the system, as well as to activate the external assistance in the Syrian negotiating process."
The two parties agreed on the US-Russian agenda for future communications.
Russian Foreign Ministry said that the connection between Lavrov and Tillerson came at the request of the American side.
