A tribal leader has been killed in an armed tribal conflict in northern Iraq's southernmost province of Basra, a security source and witnesses said on Saturday.
The source and witnesses said that a fierce tribal conflict broke out in the early hours of the morning in the area of "Kermat Ali" north of Basra, which used types of light and medium weapons.
They said the conflict had killed a tribal leader from one of the two rival clans, warning that the situation in the region would continue to worsen and the conflict would continue for a long time.
