MOSCOW - A Russian helicopter carrying eight citizens was killed in the sea near the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard on Thursday, the Russian emergency ministry said.
According to a ministry statement, the Mi-8 helicopter belongs to Converse Aviation.
The ministry said three crew members were scientists at the North and South Pole Research Institute.
She pointed to the continued efforts to determine the location of the helicopter crash, and the cause of the fall, and the fate of passengers is unknown so far (17:00 GMT).
