    European traders said on Monday that the Iraqi Grain Trade Company bought about 100 thousand tons of hard wheat in a tender closed last week, according to "Reuters."


    About 50,000 tons of the United States and 50,000 tons of Australia come from the United States.


    The price of US wheat was estimated at 332.17 dollars per ton, including freight costs without unloading and Australian $ 309.95 per ton.


    The tender was for the purchase of wheat from the United States, Canada or Australia.


    There were no reports of Canadian wheat offerings. 

    Four grain trading companies participated in the tender, a modest number compared to previous years.


    The Iraqi Ministry of Trade faced difficulties in importing grain over the past year after it began to work on new terms of payment and quality commended traders for its global bidding.


    The quantities in Iraqi tenders are nominal and often the country buys more than stipulated in the tender. 

    Iraq was requesting 50,000 tons in the final tender.


    Iraq is expected to need wheat imports in the coming months despite improved domestic yields, the new director of the Iraqi Grain Trade Company said on March 13.


    He explained that the Ministry of Commerce will continue to continue in the recent period of the combination of international tenders and direct deals for the purchase of wheat.
