The Dawa Party bloc confirmed the organization of the interior that the current parliament will not be able to hold any future meeting, from now until the elections scheduled for May 12.
The head of the bloc, Ali al-Budairi, said in a press statement: "Legally the current session of the House of Representatives will end on June 30, and ends the legislative term during the month of April next, and the parliament could extend for one month only after April."
He added that "the current data shows the inability of the House of Representatives from now on to hold any meetings full quorum, with the near date of the elections," noting that "the holding of emergency meetings future seems very difficult, with the end of the life of the parliamentary session and the preoccupation of the political blocs campaigning for candidates.
He explained that "there is a parliamentary tradition since the previous sessions to disrupt the meetings starting in March," pointing to the need to continue the work of the parliament and the formal meetings of the committees until June 30 in order to pass important laws.
The House of Representatives officially lifted its regular meetings last week, with the Presidency pledge that the deputies will be informed of the date of the next session at a later date later, provided that the agenda of the new meeting, if held, vote on the conviction or not answers of the ministers questioned.
