US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un Tuesday signed a comprehensive document containing all the files after the historic summit meeting of the two leaders in Singapore.
Trump announced that the denuclearization of North Korea would begin "very quickly".
The president said he had "built a very special relationship with Kim," calling on him to "visit the White House."
"Relations with North Korea will be very different from it in the past," he said.
"A new era begins after the historic meeting," Kim said. "The world will see a big change."
"The meeting with Kim is better than anyone had expected," Trump said.
The US president confirmed that he had a "good relationship" with the North Korean leader at the start of a historic summit they held in Singapore on Tuesday as the two leaders discussed ways to end the nuclear standoff on the Korean Peninsula.
If they succeed in achieving a diplomatic breakthrough, this could permanently change the security landscape in Northeast Asia, similar to former US President Richard Nixon's 1972 visit to China that led to a shift in Beijing.
"We will face challenges," Kim said, but pledged to work with Trump.
With international press cameras on them, Trump and Kim built an atmosphere of initial friendship.
The two leaders appeared serious as they left their cars at the summit venue at the Kabila Hotel on Singapore's Sentosa Island.
After initial talks lasting about 40 minutes, Trump, Kim and Sarah went side by side in the hotel before re-entering the meeting room where senior officials joined them.[/ltr]
