US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un Tuesday signed a comprehensive document containing all the files after the historic summit meeting of the two leaders in Singapore.
Trump announced that the denuclearization of North Korea would begin "very quickly".
The president said he had "built a very special relationship with Kim," calling on him to "visit the White House."
"Relations with North Korea will be very different from it in the past," he said.
"A new era begins after the historic meeting," Kim said. "The world will see a big change."
"The meeting with Kim is better than anyone had expected," Trump said.
The US president confirmed that he had a "good relationship" with the North Korean leader at the start of a historic summit they held in Singapore on Tuesday as the two leaders discussed ways to end the nuclear standoff on the Korean Peninsula.
If they succeed in achieving a diplomatic breakthrough, this could permanently change the security landscape in Northeast Asia, similar to former US President Richard Nixon's 1972 visit to China that led to a shift in Beijing.
"We will face challenges," Kim said, but pledged to work with Trump.
With international press cameras on them, Trump and Kim built an atmosphere of initial friendship.
The two leaders appeared serious as they left their cars at the summit venue at the Kabila Hotel on Singapore's Sentosa Island.
After initial talks lasting about 40 minutes, Trump, Kim and Sarah went side by side in the hotel before re-entering the meeting room where senior officials joined them.[/ltr]

President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un signed a comprehensive document at the end of their summit in Singapore, which began with a historic shake-up, the first of its kind between an American president and a North Korean leader.
It is reported that the contents of the document is not yet known, at a time when some details are expected to be revealed at a press conference today, but Trump announced during the signing ceremony that the document "comprehensive", stressing that "the outcome of the summit will satisfy both parties" and everyone will be happy.
She added that relations with North Korea would be significantly different than before, stressing that the summit was successful. Trump called on his North Korean counterpart to visit the White House.
The two-day meeting between Trump and Kim lasted only an hour with the presence of translators and without any official from the two countries, before Trump joined in the expanded talks with Foreign Secretary Mike Pompeo, National Security Adviser John Bolton and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly. Former Foreign Minister Kim Yong-chul, Foreign Minister Ry Yong-ho and Vice-Chairman of the ruling Labor Party, Ri Soo-young.
"He was very good," Trump said of his meeting with Kim. "We have excellent relations."
"We will face challenges," Kim said, but pledged to work with Trump.
"We have overcome all the doubts and speculation about this summit and I think this is good for peace. I think this is a good introduction to peace," Kim said.
If they succeed in achieving a diplomatic breakthrough, this could permanently change the security landscape in Northeast Asia, similar to former US President Richard Nixon's 1972 visit to China that led to a shift in Beijing.
Washington has demanded that Pyongyang renounce its nuclear program and disclose it, as well as assurances that it would not seek a nuclear weapon again.
    Trump pledged to "protect"
In contrast, North Korea insists it wants to abandon its nuclear program, but in stages.
Trump first arrived at the Kabila hotel on Sintuza island ahead of Tuesday's summit, while television footage showed Kim's motorcade arriving later.
At the start of the summit, Trump said he expected a "wonderful relationship" with Kim. "We came here after we had overcome all the obstacles," Kim On said.

(AFP) - US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will sign a memorandum of understanding that will confirm the progress of their negotiations and the commitment to continue them, CNN reported.
The channel quoted a senior official in the US delegation as confirming that the two leaders are in the process of signing a memorandum on the outcome of their talks.
Trump told reporters after his tour with Kim that he was about to sign a document with his North counterpart on the progress of their negotiations, adding that "it will be announced in minutes."
Talks between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un began with a historic shake-up between the US president and a North Korean leader at the summit venue on Singapore's island of Sintuza.
At the start of the summit, Trump said he expected a "wonderful relationship" with Kim, while Kim On said, "We came here after we got through all the obstacles."
Trump first arrived at the Kabila Hotel on Sintuza Island, while television footage showed Kim's motorcade arriving later.
Trump said earlier on Monday that ongoing meetings between his country's representatives and their North Korean counterparts were proceeding well and quickly. "We will all know soon whether there is a real agreement unlike what happened in the past," he said in a tweet on Twitter. "It could happen."
Washington has demanded that Pyongyang renounce its nuclear program and disclose assurances that it will not seek nuclear weapons again. Trump has vowed to provide protection to North Korea's leader once he abandons the nuclear program.
While Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo stressed the provision of economic aid and guarantees unique to Pyongyang.
In return, North Korea says it wants to abandon its nuclear program, but in stages
