    The leader of the Sadrist movement, Moqtada al-Sadr, to freeze the work of the peace brigades in Basra for two years. 

    "It was decided, as directed by Muqtada al-Sadr, to freeze the work of the peace brigades in the province of Basra for two years from the date of this statement, and to expel the official of the peace brigades in the province of Basra, Samir Mohammed Luaibi." 

    "It is also decided to freeze the work of the leader of the peace brigades in southern Iraq, Haidar Mustafa (Abu Aya) for two years also," he said. 

    The statement pointed out that "sending a delegation representing al-Sadr to Basra to support the security services, and non-interference in its professional and functional affairs," stressing that: "strictly prevent the intervention of the Peace Brigades in any action other than jihadist action, and whoever intervenes will expose himself to punishment."
