"More than 70 files were put on the table of the Supreme Council for Combating Corruption," an official Arab newspaper quoted the official as saying. "There are some thorny files because they are linked to influential figures and parties."
He added that "the Council discusses issues of corruption caused the loss of tens of billions of dollars," explaining that "the Council discussed during the last sessions of its powers, and ways to proceed with the actual actions to combat corruption.
"There are significant challenges that put the Supreme Council against Corruption at stake, especially in the presence of other regulators, which have failed to curb corruption in recent years," the official said.
It is noteworthy that the Supreme Council for the fight against corruption, which includes officials and specialists headed by Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi , is the fourth executive oversight body to combat corruption, after the Integrity Commission, the Office of Financial Supervision, and the offices of inspectors general in ministries, in addition to the control exercised by the House of Representatives As a regulatory body.
The Supreme Council for Combating Corruption in Iraq , at its meeting last Sunday chaired by Adel Abdul Mahdi, follow-up the file of appointments in the southern regions, most notably the provinces of Qadisiyah, Wasit and Dhi Qar .
