Washington: We will stand with the Maliki government against the Kurdish conflict in the oil

05/04/14 /  BAGHDAD / obelisk: The Government of the United States, on Sunday, it will not support any export of oil independently by any part of Iraq, but will support the government of Nouri al-Maliki in the federal oil dispute with Iraq's Kurdistan region.

The spokeswoman said the State Department Marie Harff said in a statement, "The United States government approval to what is stated by the President of Kurdistan, Nechirvan Barzani, in which he said that Erbil will sell oil reserves located in the Turkish port of Ceyhan."

Harff added that "the U.S. government will not support any process of selling oil in Iraq without the approval of the federal government," pointing out that "the statements Nnigervan was not clear so far whether the start of the region to sell oil already or not."

Harff confirmed that "the U.S. government will stand deduced from the Kurdistan region of Iraq, by contrast, will support the government of President Nouri al-Maliki in the Federal conflict oil."

The president of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq Nechirvan Barzani, in (the first of May 2014), to Erbil will begin to sell oil stored at the port of Ceyhan in the month of May with Baghdad's approval or without it.

Barzani said that Erbil will bear the responsibility for the sale of oil alone, even if the Baghdad region cut off payments from the budget that pays the salaries of civil servants in Kurdistan.

The federal government insists Iraq not to allow the provincial government to export oil through the territory of Kurdistan independently and without her consent, saying that Iraq's natural wealth to act without the approval of the federal government is an encroachment on the sovereignty of Iraq and the constitution, and that the Turkish government refused to purchase.

The Iraqi constitution gives the right to the Kurdistan region to export oil subject to approval by the federal government through the National Oil Company "Sumo", as the Constitution provides that the money deposited in the Treasury Export Iraq and then divided evenly over the whole country through the annual budget of the country.
