Deputy: Sunni blocs passed the election law for 1,500 billion dinars

On Saturday, the MP from the Alliance of Riyad Muhammad revealed the mechanism for passing the new election law within the parliament, indicating that the Sunni blocs passed the law in exchange for passing the law affected by military operations.
Muhammad said in a statement to "Information", that "the new election law was passed against the law affected by military operations, which costs the government one thousand and 500 billion Iraqi dinars," noting that "the law affected by military operations was adopted by Sunni blocs within the House of Representatives."
He added that "most of the important laws within the House of Representatives are passed according to the political bidding process," noting that "the election law does not represent a specific component but represents all components, but some blocs make passing laws a gateway to pass other laws that achieve their political goals."
On Wednesday (December 18, 2019), the House of Representatives voted to amend the law to compensate those affected by war operations, military mistakes and terrorist operations.
