The Minister of Commerce, Alaa Al-Jubouri, announced, on Saturday, the date of launching the food basket project.
A ministry statement, a copy of which was received by Mawazine News, stated that "the Minister of Commerce arrived today in the city of Ramadi as part of his tour in Anbar Governorate, and he met Governor Ali Al-Dulaimi and discussed with him joint files."
The statement added, "The meeting also discussed the success of the marketing season for the wheat crop, the support and support of commercial departments, and the preparation and rehabilitation of warehouses that were destroyed as a result of ISIS terrorist operations."
He continued, "The minister and the governor also discussed the preparation for distributing the food meal through the food basket project, which will be launched on the first of next April, and the preparation of local and international exhibition grounds."
During the meeting, the minister stressed that "the visit to Anbar Governorate comes within the framework of the Prime Minister's directives in field follow-up, addressing citizens' problems, coordinating with local governments and overcoming obstacles to work."
Al-Jubouri pointed out that "the success of the marketing season for the wheat crop and the achievement of important results by providing good strategic stocks of wheat, this came due to high-level cooperation with the supporting bodies from ministries and local governments, as well as control and administrative measures from the Ministry's center to address the problems and obstacles that occurred In previous years and dealt with it quickly and positively.
He pointed out, "The ministry will start work on the food basket project approved by the Council of Ministers and set a date for processing early next July, which constitutes an important turning point in developing work with the ration card and addressing all the failures that occurred in previous years, and this is evidence of the great government effort that contributed to following up on this file." and address all its problems.
And the minister indicated, "the possibility of forming joint committees from the ministry and the governorate to resolve outstanding issues and show flexibility in dealing with these files in a manner that serves the people of the province."

According to the statement, "the meeting discussed other topics, most notably the rehabilitation of the stores of the General Company for Foodstuff Trading and the transfer of some stores outside the governorate within the framework of the governorate's plan to expand and rehabilitate government facilities."
