Kurdish party: Resolving the file of choosing a presidential candidate depends on this matter
Shafaq News/ Jamal Cougar, a member of the Iraqi Parliament for the Kurdistan Islamic Party, said on Sunday that the agreement to nominate a candidate for the position of President of the Republic by the Kurdish political forces depends on resolving the Shiite-Shiite dispute between the Sadrist movement on the one hand and the coordination framework on the other hand.
The party's deputy, Jamal Cougar, told Shafaq News Agency, "So far, the file of choosing the candidate for the presidency has not been resolved by the Kurdish political forces, and the file of choosing the presidential candidate will remain suspended until the Shiite-Shiite dispute between the Sadrist movement and the coordination framework on the government is resolved." new".
He added that "the choice of the president of the republic is not the original problem that hinders the completion of the formation of the government, but the Shiite-Shiite dispute is the real and main obstacle."
Cougar continued by saying that "the resolution of the Kurdish-Kurdish dispute over the presidency is awaiting resolution of the biggest dispute between the Sadrist movement and the coordination framework."
The dispute revolves between the two main parties in the Kurdistan Region, the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, over the re-nomination of Barham Salih for the presidency.
And the Iraqi Council of Representatives announced, in the middle of last March, the names of 40 candidates for the presidency, indicating that five candidates had been excluded.
