Shafaq News / The Chaldean Archbishop of Erbil, Bishop Bashar Warda warned, today, Saturday, hundreds of religious leaders in the Indonesian city of Bali, of the imminent annihilation of Christians in Iraq in the event of continued violence at this level and persecution of religious minorities.
The Christian website "Persecution", which is based in Florida in the United States, said in a news article translated by Shafaq News Agency; "Bishop Warda was speaking during his participation in the G20 Interfaith Forum."
The American Christian website pointed out that "extremist groups and non-Christian government officials practice a lot of violence and repression, forcing the majority of Christians to practice their religious worship in secret."
The report quoted Archbishop Warda as saying that there is "a fundamental crisis of violence in Islam, which can no longer be ignored."
Warda considered that "this crisis of violence continues to affect the Middle East, Africa, Russia and beyond."
The Christian website's report concluded by saying that "without a change in the general culture that exists in Iraq, the danger to the people of the Christian faith in Iraq will continue to make their numbers diminish."
