A member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Raed al-Maliki, explained the existing laws within his committee, which are being worked on during the coming period, including the amendments to the Provincial Council Elections Law.
Al-Maliki said in a press interview, "There is a list of laws carried over from the previous sessions of the House of Representatives, where work is underway to complete and legislate them after resolving the obstacles and problems in them, especially since any law is carried over, because there are some obstacles within it that require finding solutions to them." .
He added, "The Legal Committee is working on major laws, and continues to work as a supportive committee for other parties, as it is currently working mainly on the legal aid law, which includes providing assistance and consultations and establishing a legal center in the High Commission for Human Rights, benefiting social protection segments, martyrs' families, and people with disabilities." .
And that "the committee has other laws that it intends to complete during the coming period, including the proposed provincial law and amendments to the elections."
