    Today, Saturday (September 9, 2023), Kurdish politician Hakim Abdul Karim predicted the results of the elections in the Kurdistan region, while indicating that the emerging parties will not be an alternative to the president due to fraud, power and money. 
    On (August 3, 2023), the official spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Presidency, Dilshad Shihab, revealed the date for holding the region’s parliament elections, stressing that “the region’s president, Nechirvan Barzani, signed a regional decree to hold Kurdistan parliament elections on February 25, 2024.” 
    Decline in citizen confidence in elections 
    Kurdish politician Hakim Abdul Karim confirms that there is a significant decline in the confidence of Kurdish citizens in the elections, noting that there are new movements that will affect the results of the vote.
    Abdul Karim told "Baghdad Today", "The turnout rate for participation in the elections in the Kurdistan region will be very small, but there is an opportunity for the new movements to have a decisive role."
    He added, "The new movements will get good results, but they will certainly not be an alternative to the two main parties, the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union. This is due to reasons, the most important of which is the existence of fraud, and power and money are in the hands of the two parties."
    Predictions of election results 
    Kurdish politician Abdul Karim explains that "expectations indicate the emergence of a number of movements emerging from academics, independents, and those separated from the Kurdish parties, such as the Change Movement and the Islamic parties," noting that "if these parties succeed in forming a unified opposition front, they will have the ability to confront the parties in power."
    Observers of political affairs believe that the determination of the elections came in response to international pressure and was not due to the demands of the Kurdish people or parties, and therefore the elections will be held on the twenty-fifth of February next year, stressing that the ground is not prepared for holding the elections and will not be prepared even if they are postponed for years, due to political differences. .
