    Baghdad today - Sulaymaniyah
Today, Tuesday (March 12, 2024), independent Kurdish politician Hakim Abdul Karim asked the Election Commission to implement three things before holding the Kurdistan Parliament elections.
Abdul Karim said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that, “In order to ensure the greatest degree of integrity of the elections, three things must be implemented, the first of which is replacing the directors of the Commission’s offices in the governorates of the Kurdistan region.”
He added, "The other matter is to conduct an accurate and comprehensive review of voter records and match them with voter records in the federal parliamentary elections and with official documents."
He pointed out, "The last thing is to allow the largest number of local and international organizations, the United Nations, and the media to monitor the elections. These things, if they happen, will reduce a large percentage of fraud."
It is hoped that the Independent High Electoral Commission will, for the first time, supervise the Kurdistan elections, which will be held on June 10.
