    Information / Baghdad..
On Tuesday, member of the Parliamentary Services Committee, Baqir Al-Saadi, confirmed the government’s success in the road project plan inside Baghdad.

Al-Saadi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The severe traffic congestion in Baghdad has reached high rates, which has had a negative impact on people’s lives through the time period of reaching institutions or completing transactions and doubling the time frames.”
He added, "The Sudanese government realized the extent of the citizens' suffering and actually began to adopt 3 steps to end the traffic jam in Baghdad, most notably the revival of bridge projects and the development and expansion of current roads, especially the main ones near the entrances to the capital."
He pointed out that "reviving the subway projects or the suspended sector in Baghdad are future steps, especially since the situation requires accelerated steps in order to reduce the amount of severe traffic congestion, the rates of which are rising dramatically annually with the influx of thousands of new vehicles into the streets every month."
Baghdad suffers from severe traffic congestion that reaches high rates in the morning peak at the beginning of official working hours in ministries and government institutions.
