    Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The Integrity Commission announced the implementation of arrest operations for violations in the division of a tender worth $85 million, overpricing, waste of public money, and suspicions of corruption in the Basra Oil Company.
    An integrity statement received by Al-Masalla stated that the work team of the Basra Investigation Directorate, which moved to the Zubair Oil Field Operating Authority, which is affiliated with the Basra Oil Company, revealed that the authority had signed a contract at a cost of 17 million dollars to implement flow pipes to inject water into oil wells after splitting a tender with a total value of 85 million dollars. One million dollars in violation of the law and exceeding powers by the Director of the Projects Department at the Authority to evade the approvals of the Central Energy Council in contracts outside the powers.
    He pointed out that there was an increase in the prices of implementing pipe works and mechanical installations in the Zubair Field Operating Authority, indicating that the prices were increased under the pretext of changing the plans in the original contract worth $5 million concluded with an Italian company, noting that financial and administrative violations were monitored in the Operating Authority, as the allocated amounts were exploited. To connect oil wellheads in other works, pointing out that an amount of $224,950 was spent to connect (15) wells, while the amount allocated for it amounted to $49,500.
    The statement added that a waste of public money was observed in the contract for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the Zubair Field Operating Authority building, which was signed with an Italian company, explaining that the contract included the disbursement of an amount of 74 thousand dollars for a period of three years, whether there was maintenance or not, and it was also noted that there was An Egyptian company is responsible for building maintenance, despite the presence of staff in the authority who specialize in maintenance.
    He continued, “The team that moved to the licensing contracts auditing department at the Basra Oil Company seized the preliminary details of the Nakhilah water injection station in North Rumaila, after follow-up and investigation work showed that the process of preparing it was in violation of the required specifications, indicating the presence of suspicions of financial and administrative corruption in A contract for establishing a marketing exhibition for household goods, under which a green space was rented within the company’s site, noting that the priorities of the contract were set.
