The Ministry of Interior announced today, Sunday, that the plan to celebrate New Year does not include blocking roads, while indicating the intensification of its patrols in the streets and public places.
Director of the Ministry’s Relations and Media Department, Khaled Al-Muhanna, said, “The security services focused their plan regarding New Year’s celebrations on some aspects, including fireworks, traffic jams, and the abnormal behavior of some by disturbing families, and therefore plans and duties were drawn up according to the formations.”
He explained, "A traffic plan and a civil defense plan have been developed by deploying detachments in preparation for the occurrence of fires, in addition to increasing the number of foot and motorized patrols, as well as distributing members of the community police and intensifying their patrols in public places and areas frequented by citizens to prevent any cases of disturbance to families."
He stressed, "There will be no closure of the streets, but rather there will be a presence of traffic devices in order to smooth the roads and deal with the expected traffic jam."
