    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Professor of Economics at Sulaymaniyah University, Khaled Haider, confirmed today, Friday (April 5, 2024), that the economic movement in the Kurdistan region will revive with the advent of Eid.
Haider said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that, “If the employees are given the salary before the Eid holiday and with the entry of large numbers of tourists during the Eid, we are on the verge of a recovery that will compensate for the recession that occurred in the region’s markets.”
He added, "Kurdistan's markets suffered from complete paralysis, as a result of the delayed disbursement of salaries, and now that the crisis has been gradually resolved, it is certain that many economic sectors will recover, since the citizen was limiting his needs and purchasing necessary things, the most important of which are food and medicine."
The Kurdistan Regional Government announced that it had reached an "appropriate solution" with Baghdad regarding salaries, confirming that it would distribute March salaries before Eid al-Fitr.
