Baghdad Governorate confirmed, on Saturday, that the Baghdad-Mosul entrance project has reached about 35% completion rates.
The governorate stated in a statement, seen by Al-Iqtisad News, that “the project is under the guidance and supervision of the Governor of Baghdad, Abdul Muttalib Al-Alawi, and is proceeding at an increasing pace under field monitoring by the Directorate of Roads and Bridges and in accordance with the required technical specifications, as the completion rate has reached about 35%,” pointing out that “ The entrance to Baghdad and Mosul witnesses the landing of about (130) specialized vehicles with various tasks distributed over six sections with a length of (33) kilometers.
The statement added, “The concrete pouring work for the outbound corridor towards the capital has reached completion of (25) kilometers with a width of (15.5) metres, while continuing to spread the bonding asphalt layer with a length of (14) kilometers for the outbound corridor towards Mosul and laying the gravel leading to the return corridor as well, in addition to Regarding the work of treating rattan and replacing the soil, which starts from Al-Mushahada intersection all the way to Al-Abaiji intersection,” he explained, “The road body for the project will be completed by the end of this year.”
He pointed out that “the technical personnel of the Directorate of Roads and Bridges in the governorate have actually begun pouring the pillars for the overhead bridges, completed the columns for (15) pedestrian bridges, and placed the central concrete barrier along the road,” noting that “operating and activating the work of the weighing stations will soon be done officially by the Ministry of Construction.” And housing to determine the incoming loads.”
