    The
    Minister of Planning Ali Yousef Shukri sending plan new five-year (2013
    - 2017) to the Cabinet for approval after his assertion that the
    five-year plan years (2010 - 2014) did not achieve its goals in reaching
    the limit drawn by the United Nations in providing development services
    to the citizens.

    Ascribed Minister of Planning reasons for not
    achieving the previous plan to the lack of security and political
    stability.

    Iraq had launched, in May of 2010, the National
    Development Plan Five-Year 2010-2014, under the theme "Towards Iraqi
    economy is diverse and sustainable", and aims to reduce disparities and
    barriers between urban and rural areas, and the establishment of
    infrastructure and securing social services and jobs, and increase
    output domestic product by 9.38 percent average annual growth during the
    period of the plan with work on diversifying the economy, which depends
    now on oil imports.

    Shukri said in a statement quoted by the

    Revealed by the Ministry of Planning for sending the new five-year plan to the Cabinet for approval, saying that the lack of security and political stability has led to non-achievement of the last plan objectives.
