Jubouri to a UN official: The human rights file in Iraq is facing major problems

DAMASCUS, (SANA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jabouri discussed on Monday with the representative of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Martin Batrov and his accompanying delegation the humanitarian, security and security situation in Iraq. Of humanitarian organizations in providing the necessary supplies for displaced families.
"The House of Representatives has been able in the past period to enact a number of laws that limit violations in the file of human rights and contribute to the rise of this important file in the construction of Iraqi society."
He added that "the human rights file in the country faces major problems that need the contribution of everyone in order to achieve a jump reflected positively on the stability of the internal situation of the country."
Jubouri called on the international community to stand by Iraq in light of the challenges it faces, stressing that "international organizations should work to document the crimes committed during the past period in different cities of Iraq."
For his part, the visiting delegation appreciated the efforts made by the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the issue of human rights and paying special attention to this file, which serves the return of stability to Iraqi cities as soon as possible.
