The Iraqi Foreign Ministry on Monday condemned terrorist attacks that targeted the lives of innocent people in Canada's Edmonton and French Marseille.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounces and condemns the terrorist attacks that targeted the lives of innocent people in Edmonton, Canada and Marseille," said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmad Mahjoub in a statement received by the New York News Agency, expressing "sincere condolences to the families of the victims and their wishes for speedy recovery. "He said.
The statement called on the international community to stand united in fighting terrorism and pursuing extremist ideologues so that peace, security and prosperity prevail throughout the globe.
Two people were killed after a man stabbed them at the main train station in the French city of Marseille.
Canadian police also opened an investigation into a terrorist act after a policeman stabbed a knife before a small truck hit four other people in the Canadian city of Edmonton.
