The Pentagon said the operations led by the US-led coalition led to the liberation of large parts of the territory under the control of the Da'ash organization in Iraq and Syria.
This came in a statement issued by the headquarters of "Solid Steel" operations carried out by the International Coalition in Iraq and Syria against the "Da'ash" organization, led by the United States since 8 August 2014.
"Coalition forces have returned more than 95 percent of the territory that was controlled by a sympathetic organization in Iraq and Syria," the statement said. And contributed to the release of more than 6.9 million Iraqi and Syrian citizens. "
"Iraqi forces, including some 120,000 soldiers and an officer trained by the coalition, continue to clean up the liberated areas of the organization's militants and carry out major attacks in Anbar province and the Euphrates River valley," the statement said.
As for Syrian territory, which was subject to the rule of organization, the statement stated that "the Syrian Democratic Forces, which included Kurdish and Arab forces, comprised of 12 thousand soldiers trained by the coalition, managed to liberate the city of Raqqa and drove the fighters out of their last stronghold ) in Syria". He added: "They (Qd) also suffered losses, where about 1100 people were killed and more than 3900 injured in the battles of liberation."
With regard to the killing of civilians, the statement confirmed that the wrong strikes of the coalition resulted in the "killing of 786 civilians as a result of wrong strikes since the start of the operation." And 519 other reports of civilian casualties are also being investigated.
The Pentagon reported on its official Web site that the total cost of the US "Solid Steel" by the end of June this year was $ 14.3 billion.
