    The Federal Supreme Court , on Sunday, a decision on the establishment of a committee of the House of Representatives nominated members of the Independent High Electoral Commission, stressing that this does not contradict with the Constitution. 

    "The Supreme Federal Court held its session and considered the appeal against the unconstitutionality of article (3 / II) of Chapter III of the law of the Independent High Commission for Elections and demand its abolition," said the spokesman of the court, Iyas Samuk, in a statement received by Alsumaria News, Focused on the establishment of a committee of the House of Representatives nominated members of the Board of Commissioners on the grounds that this constitutes a violation of the provisions of the Iraqi Constitution.

    Al-Samok added that "the court found in its decision issued on (7/11/2017) No. (88 / Federal / 2017) that the committee formed by the House of Representatives, which took the nomination of members of the Board of Commissioners, provided for in Article (9 / II) Independent Electoral Commission, and that their nomination was in fulfillment of their obligations under the law. 

    He added that "the appellant relied on the members of the Commission of the special grades that need to be nominated by the Council of Ministers ," noting that "the decision of the Court stated that this nomination does not intersect with the provisions of the Constitution because the candidates are not holders of special grades or agents of the ministry, but enjoy their privileges Without the degree mentioned, and therefore the court found that the lawsuit is not based on a bill of the Constitution decided to reply.[/size]
