UK consumer confidence fell to a four-year low this month, contrary to analysts' expectations, a sign of pessimism about Britain's economy.
"The UK consumer confidence index fell by one point in December to drop to -13, its lowest level in four years," a statement released by GFH on Thursday showed.
Analysts had expected consumer confidence in Britain to stabilize at a 12-point level at the end of December.
On a year-on-year basis, UK consumer confidence rose 5 points this month to -31 points from the same period last year.
