Turkish intelligence services are investigating whether a Balkan group of Turkish origin could carry out an assassination attempt against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina tomorrow.
According to information obtained by Anatolia, Turkish intelligence services received reports from Turks living near the Macedonian capital of Skopje about "the existence of reports of an assassination attempt targeting Erdogan during his visit to a Balkan country."
Western intelligence services, the Turkish counterpart, also reported on the "readiness of a Turkish group to carry out an assassination against Erdogan during his next visit to the Balkans."
The Turkish intelligence services launched an investigation into the matter after receiving identical information from various sources.Anatolia learned that the investigation was continuing, and the intelligence services could not know the timing, location and style of the alleged assassination.
Erdogan is on an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he will meet senior Bosnian officials. For his part, the Turkish government spokesman, Bakr Bouzdag, that "Erdogan's visit to Bosnia will take place on time." "The government is aware of the existence of troubled circles from Erdogan and wants to get rid of him," Bouzdag said in tweets via his Twitter account. He added that "his country receives such communications, but the president does not fear death, and will not back down on its issues." He pointed out that Erdogan "reached what it is today by overcoming many threats and pressures, plots and intrigues, and will continue his way with the same determination again."
