Basra provincial council member Asad al-Eidani is still in office, said a member of the provincial council of Basra, Nazem Nimr, on Thursday. He did not lead the constitutional oath in the parliament until he gained the status of deputy, stressing that Basra needs a new administration chosen by its council away from quotas and partying.
"There is ambiguity in Basra, so let us know that the governor has been sworn in by parliament or not. According to the information, As'ad al-Eidani has not been sworn in as a parliament and therefore is still governor of Basra," Nimer said in a statement.
He added that "the provincial council will elect a chairman and a governor after the constitutional oath of Saad al-Eidani in parliament, because the province suffers from mismanagement and lack of full commitment to all the administration of the Council, and the mechanism of action is not satisfied with all, where the committees of the Council individually."
He added that "the provincial council is keen to find a mechanism of work and management and a new structure of the new president and governor, where the new governor away from the quotas and the party and the future will not be the same as before, the Council will choose the right person," asserting that "choosing the governor and determine the person will not be through the Prime Minister Or the House of Representatives, as the law provides the provincial council to choose the governor by the provincial council. Ending / 25 n
