The Saudi cabinet on Tuesday issued a statement on the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi .

"The Council of Ministers welcomed the announcement by the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey to respond to the request of the Kingdom to form a joint working group bringing together the specialists in the two brotherly countries to reveal the circumstances of the disappearance of the Saudi citizen Jamal bin Ahmed," the statement said, quoting Information Minister Awad bin Saleh al-Awad. Khashoggi in the city of Istanbul, Republic of Turkey, "according to" Saudi Press Agency ".

Turkey and Saudi Arabia opened a joint investigation into the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in his consulate in Istanbul two weeks ago. 

"The Council expressed its appreciation to all Muslim, Arab and friendly countries, organizations, parliaments, Arab and international organizations, and the voices of the wise people around the world who have won wisdom, deliberation and the search for truth instead of rushing and seeking to exploit rumors and accusations."

Khashoggi disappeared after entering the headquarters of his consulate in Istanbul(October 2) and lost contact with him after that. 

The Turkish and Saudi authorities have given conflicting accounts about Khashoggi's place, where Ankara says he has not left the consulate building he entered, while Riyadh insists he left shortly after his family status was terminated.
