The protesters in Tahrir Square demanded that the Iranian General [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/134/%D9%82%D8%A7%D8%B3%D9%85 %D8%B3%D9%84%D9%8A%D9%85%D8%A7%D9%86%D9%8A][size=13]Qassem Soleimani[/url] leave [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/2677/%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D9%86%D8%B7%D9%82%D8%A9 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AE%D8%B6%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%A1]the Green Zone[/url] to Iran and the protesters were burned in Tahrir Square on Tuesday evening, Iran’s flag and
sources said that the protesters cut the road linking the capital Baghdad and Karbala Governorate by burning tires, noting that the international road in the area was also cut The Nile in Babil Governorate.
The continuation of the protests comes at a time when Parliament passed yesterday evening the new election law, which was one of the main demands of the demonstrators, who invaded the country since the beginning of last October. The dispute focused on Articles 15 and 16 of the Electoral Law, and these two articles are of great importance, as they define the form of candidacy and divide Iraq into several constituencies, not one constituency, as protesters demand.
The remarkable thing in the House of Representatives decision was that it approved the legislation of the new law, with all its provisions, after overcoming the contentious points.
Commenting on the matter, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, considered passing the law a "victory."
