The Parliamentary Economic Committee confirmed, on Wednesday, that the House of Representatives will go toward reconsidering the new retirement law after the collapse of oil prices and the rise of the 2020 budget deficit.
Committee member Nada Shaker said in a statement to "Information", that "the new retirement law left behind big financial problems and needs to be reconsidered in the House of Representatives after the collapse of oil prices and the rise of the federal budget deficit for 2020 to more than 70 trillion dinars", pointing out that “The House of Representatives has the intention to review the retirement law.”
She added that “the new employees who were hired after the application of the new retirement law did not receive salaries for them for five months, in addition to not paying the end-of-service gratuity for the employees who included their ages in the law”, stating that “the law needs amendments, including the exclusion clause of important cadres in the Ministry of Education Health and some important specialties.
She indicated that "the government is obliged to resort to financial experts to determine the country's financial policy after the oil collapse and the high deficit."
The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed, today, Wednesday, that the collapse of world oil prices will not affect the exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar, while it indicated that the government will continue to launch the job grades achieved after Parliament voted on the new retirement law.
