Iran calls on Al-Kazemi to fulfill his promise to cancel the entry visa between the two countries
Shafaq News/ The Assistant Minister of Interior for Security and Police Affairs, Majid Mir Ahmadi, called on the Iraqi Prime Minister on Friday to fulfill the promises he made to cancel entry visas between the two countries at the land border crossings.
Mir Ahmadi said in press statements, reported by official Iranian media today, that Al-Kazemi promised, during his two meetings with the Iranian ambassador in Baghdad, Iraj Masjedi, to cancel entry visas for Iranian visitors heading to Iraq through land ports, starting from the fifteenth day of the current month of Shaban.
And he added, many of our citizens had planned to visit the holy shrines in Iraq on the fifteenth of Sha’ban (the anniversary of the birth of Imam Mahdi according to the belief of the Imami Shiites), based on the promises of the Iraqi Prime Minister to cancel entry visas at land ports.
The Iranian official continued, saying that President Ibrahim Raisi, yesterday, Thursday, while he was on the Shalamcheh borders, there is no problem on our part in canceling entry visas, and we expect the Iraqi authorities to fulfill their promises to cancel visas at land ports.
Iraq and Iran had agreed to cancel entry visas between them since last October, on flights only.
